“This practice brings me home.” - Syanne Patterson-Grey, London Based Yoga Teacher.
Growing up, Syanne (she/her) struggled with fitting in and it was still the same when first starting her yoga practice. It was a bumpy road navigating the modern yoga scene before finding a community that was truly supportive of her journey; one that helped her realised she didn’t need to “fit in” to belong. With over 15 years of practice Sy continues to cherish her growing community and views her practice as way to understand and grow with the changing world around her. Sy is passionate about collective liberation and advocating for access, inclusion and equity for the LGBTQIA+ community and marginalised groups within yoga and wellness. She believes everyone deserves to feel like they belong.
As a teacher, Sy offers support and guidance to build a practice that is empowering, that fosters community and celebrates our unique experiences. She does this by offering classes, workshops and facilitating spaces that centre community care and collective wellbeing. Her personal practice is led by compassion, curiosity and play.
Sy completed her 200hr RYS Teacher Training at the Wellness Connection, Cape Town in 2018 and her Embody Yoga’s Roots 300hr RYS Teacher Training with Susana Barkataki and mentor Linda Lopes in 2021. She has since completed the Accessible Yoga Training with Jivana Heyman and the Accessible Yoga School in 2023.

Employee wellness has become a strategic imperative for some of the highest performing organisations and companies. An increasing number of studies show the benefits of yoga in the workplace and comprehensive wellness programs go way beyond healthy and happy employees. These yoga programs are usually conducted through one of the three following ways:
• Full subsidy: Employer offers the classes free of charge to the employee (highly recommended to show support and foster a better relationship between high-level management and entry-level employees)
• Partial subsidy: Class fees are shared by employee and employer (also great to show support from high-level management)
• Hosting: Employer offers a space in the office for the class time and employees individually pay for classes (this option is best fit for smaller corporation that have the space, but simply can’t afford any subsidies)
Book a consultation call with Syanne Patterson to discuss your personalised employee yoga & wellbeing plan.

Practice with me
Classes always start with a drop in, a quiet moment to check-in, to let the dust of the day settle and to find calm before our practice. Whether it’s your first time meeting Sy or you’re a long time client, Sy will always use the first moments of class to ensure you are given the space to arrive fully. From there, you may expect a blend of asana, free movement, strength and mobility drills, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and the occasional corny joke during a challenging shape. Classes are always taught in a way that centres compassion and accessibility.
“There is no rush”, one of Sy’s most used phrases, she invites a spirit of joyful ease into every step of the practice, always with the intention of kicking perfectionism and “busyness” to the curb. Don’t let her jokes fool you though, some of her vinyasa classes will still test your abilities (and ego). Overall, her teaching style is nurturing and light-hearted, providing a welcoming space for individuals to build confidence and explore an embodied practice at their own pace. Laughter and questions will always be encouraged!

Welcome to our monthly LGBTQIA+ gathering where we come together to do very little.
